RIDGEFIELD, CT — Urgent Care of Connecticut has appointed Michael Finkelstein, M.D. to staff physician and member of Urgent Care Medical Associates, LLC. Dr. Finkelstein will treat patients primarily in the Ridgefield, CT location at 10 South St., Suite 101.

Dr. Finkelstein is board certified in Internal Medicine and currently holds the rank of major in the New York State Guard. For his undergraduate studies, he earned a B.S. degree from Long Island University where he studied to be a Physician Assistant. He earned an M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine. Before his residency, he was a Physician Assistant at Beth Abraham Hospital in the Bronx. His Internal Medicine residency was at The Brooklyn Hospital, where he was appointed Chief Medical Resident from 1987-1988.
He was Assistant Medical Director for Beth Abraham Hospital and The Family Health Center of The White Plains Hospital. While at White Plains Hospital, he served as Medical Director of Occupational Health and was an Emergency Room attending physician. He then practiced Wound Care at Mount Vernon Hospital and was appointed to Director of Wound Care and Hyperbarics. He had private practices in Internal Medicine in Mount Vernon and Cold Spring, NY
Urgent Care of Connecticut was established in 2008 by business partners Jeannie M. Kenkare, D.O., R. Robert Rohatsch, M.D. and Bernd G. Woerner, M.D. The three board-certified physicians wanted to provide quality, convenient and timely medical care to local communities while easing volume in emergency rooms for non-life and non-limb threatening medical conditions. Urgent Care of Connecticut is independently owned and operated by its holding company, Zucyla Enterprises, LLC.
Urgent Care of Connecticut offers walk-in treatment for influenza, respiratory infections, strep throat, open wounds, broken bones, poison ivy, urinary tract infections, Lyme disease and more. Services also include vaccinations, X-Rays, blood and urine tests, EKG’s, pre-operation evaluations, physical exams, and IV fluid/medication. Urgent Care of Connecticut can dispense commonly prescribed medications at all locations.
In addition, Urgent Care of Connecticut partners with area businesses to provide employment physicals, tuberculosis testing, adult immunizations, occupational health needs, worker’s compensation care and injury management. Most major insurances are accepted.
The locations in Southbury, Brookfield, Norwalk, and Ridgefield are open 365 days a year from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
