BROOKFIELD — Urgent Care of Connecticut is pleased to announce David Mayers has joined their team through an Ability Beyond Disability work program. Ability Beyond Disability is an organization that helps people with disabilities succeed through independence, community integration, and employment opportunities. Mr. Mayers will report to the Brookfield location of Urgent Care of Connecticut two days weekly and will help with filing, collating, mailing assembly, paper shredding, watering plants and light maintenance.

"Partnering with Ability Beyond Disability provides another opportunity for us to show our commitment to good works in the community. The dedicated Ability Beyond Disability team works with us to help identify job responsibilities and handles job training."

David Mayers, who is originally from New York State, earned a high school diploma and has some college education. He lives independently and drives a car. He enjoys a vegetarian diet, walks in the woods, stories about wilderness survival, and general books about law enforcement. Prior to his new assignment, he worked for Staples for seven years.
Urgent Care of Connecticut was established in 2008 by business partners Jeannie M. Kenkare, D.O., R. Robert Rohatsch, M.D. and Bernd G. Woerner, M.D. The three board-certified physicians wanted to provide quality, convenient and timely medical care to local communities while easing volume in emergency rooms for non-life and non-limb threatening medical conditions. Services also include vaccinations, X-Rays, blood and urine tests, EKG’s, pre-operation evaluations, physical exams, and IV fluid/medication. Urgent Care of Connecticut can dispense commonly prescribed medications at all locations.
In addition, Urgent Care of Connecticut partners with area businesses to provide employment physicals, tuberculosis testing, adult immunizations, occupational health needs, worker’s compensation care and injury management. Most major insurances are accepted.
The locations in Southbury, Brookfield, Norwalk, and Ridgefield are open 365 days a year from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
