Jeannie Kenkare, DO, FAAFP is Chief Medical Officer for Zucyla Enterprises, LLC and sits on the Executive Management Team. She is a founding member of Zucyla Enterprises, the parent company for Urgent Care of Connecticut, and as Chief Medical Officer, she provides guidance and leadership to the organization's clinical providers.
Dr. Kenkare works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Practice Administrator, Director of Clinical Operations, Multi-site Directors, and Practice Managers to develop highly-effective quality care management programs. She thoroughly reviews clinical guidelines, decision tools, and outcomes to develop and implement distinct short and long-term processes to improve patient care, clinical quality, and financial performance.
She has been invited to speak at the Urgent Care Association of America national conference and was named to the "40 under 40" class of 2013 for Connecticut Magazine, recognizing young professionals that have made significant contributions in the state of Connecticut. Additionally, Dr. Kenkare has been called upon by Connecticut legislators and lobbyists to provide her expertise and knowledge to improve healthcare in the state with a special emphasis on quality of care, clinical outcomes, and cost-containment.
Dr. Kenkare brings years of physician executive experience to Zucyla Enterprises having served as Medical Director for numerous practices and as Assistant Director for a hospitalist program in a large healthcare organization. During her tenure, she assisted in the growth and expansion of the hospitalist program and its acceptance across the medical board. She also developed and implemented a hospital wide pre- and post -operative program designed to care for patients undergoing moderate to high risk surgery. Dr. Kenkare is an Assistant Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She has taught clinical medicine to residents in training and currently teaches medical students "patient-centered" medical interview techniques, delivery of bad news, and other sensitive issues.
Dr. Kenkare is an Osteopathic physician board certified in Family Medicine by the American College of Family Practitioners. She completed her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey and attended medical school at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM). She subsequently completed her Family Medicine Residency at Warren Hospital, an affiliate of UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she served as Chief Resident. She and her family of five have been Connecticut residents since 2008.
